things to do
We cannot wait for all of you to explore the city we have fallen in love with! We have endless recommendations for food, vintage, beaches, hikes, breweries, and sightseeing in and around Portland. If you are planning on a longer stay to explore Maine/New England, feel free to reach out to us for ideas!
Make sure to book reservations for meals ahead of time, as during the summer and fall months everything is a bit more crowded. Use this map as a guide to plan your time here, and of course reach out with any questions!
If you prefer list format - all our recommendations are in This Google Doc as well!
accomodations
THE WESTIN HARBORVIEW
Our hotel block booking cutoff has unfortunately passed, but there are still a few rooms available. If you need a room, reach out to Connor or Olivia - we will get you connected to a room at the reduced rate.
The Westin is located conveniently in town and will be walkable to many of the attractions of Portland. It is a 6 minute drive / ~1mi walk to all wedding festivities.
aIRBNB/VRBO
We have put together a list of rental homes and condos of various sizes on Airbnb, and will continue to add to this list.
Rentals have the potential for most affordable and unique options + best locations (walkable to wedding, etc.) Portland is a small town & September is tourist season, so options will book up quickly.
The wedding reception/ceremony will all be in the East End (Munjoy Hill area) - so this would be the ideal location! But, anywhere on the peninsula (east of 295) will be walkable to places around town.
Feel free to also look in surrounding areas - Willard Beach, Cape Elizabeth, Back Cove, Rosemont, Scarborough areas (and many others) are all very nice, but will be driving distance from the festivities, so plan to drive or rent a car if you go this route.
GETTING TO PORTLAND
Portland's airport (PWM) will be most convenient, a 10-15min drive or Uber into town.
Boston Logan is a little less than 2hrs away, with an easy bus ride to come straight from the airport to Portland.
